So You're EnGAYged, a LGBT wedding blog

We keep Audra’s album on our family room table, delighting us repeatedly, and our guests constantly. She was so accomodating, and agreed to divide her contractual hours effortlessly. We began our day in Stanley Park with 120 of our 150 guests gathering for a 10K/5K jog/bike/stroll event. She met us at the host hotel in the morning, shot all of the identically T-Shirt attired “athletes,” then got action photos, start and finish line photos, etc: Awesome. The wedding was oudoors and the photos taken are stellar: candids, and formals, garden settings, and reception. She even mananged to capture the “precious” ringbearer, our 4 year old samoyed dog! At one point, she borrowed our wedding bands, and we have tender and lovely pictures of them in a variety of settings. We had a host of flags from countries and states that allow same-sex marriage, and she capured the touching quality of that display. From quiet romantic moments between Doug and me, to jam-packed ballroom action, she documented with flair, humor and artisty, our wedding day.Bo and Doug

Audra was a pleasure to have as a photographer. She was very flexible as to our plans as we did not want a conventional wedding – think two women in jeans on a tidal flats beach in April. She showed us a variety of her work – both portrait & formal weddings which helped us think about setting and other locations near the beach that would add some variety. On the day in question she was great – very funny and helped put us at ease and really enjoy the experience of being photographed (which I am not fond of). When we had enough she got the message and distracted us to get a few more good shots. Our favourite is one of the scenes we really were questioning her choice about. We have only one regret and that was that we did not take her up on her suggestion/recommendation to attend the big party we had with family & friends a few months later. We actually got dressed up for that event and had an amazing venue but alas, we have poor photos as Audra wasn’t there.Heather and Paula
