I’m Amanda, and I’m a portrait artist. I’ve been a portrait artist since I could hold one of those nice chunky crayons. I’ve never wanted to be anything else. Once, long, long ago in art college, I studied the fine art of painting. I still paint and I will always love painting, but for the past few years, photography has stolen my heart.

It is my goal to record the beauty of the things most people overlook, because I think there are many beautiful things in life that people just get too busy to see, starting with themselves. The most beautiful things to me are the people I am blessed to know and have as a part of my life. So, I want to make amazing pictures of them that show them why I think they are beautiful. In fact, I want to do that for everyone who will let me.

On your big day, I will unobtrusively record all the emotional moments you want to remember, and all the beautiful reactions and details you will be too busy to notice. Together, we will make amazing images of you and your partner, and of your entire wedding. And when you look at your photos tomorrow, and years from tomorrow, you will be able to relive every moment. And I will never, ever ask you to smile or say cheese. That’s a promise.

Your special day is as unique as you are. I want to photograph weddings for people like you, who dare to think differently. You’re not like everybody else. Your photos shouldn’t be, either.

Discount: No travel fees for any East Coast wedding booked at least 60 days in advance just for mentioning So You’re EnGAYged.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Amanda. My partner and I hired her for an engagement session and were really blown away by the results. The photos are absolutely gorgeous — we have three prints framed and sitting on our fireplace mantle, and everyone who walks in the house comments on them immediately. Throughout the entire process — from first contact to the delivery of our photos — Amanda was professional, warm, and a pleasure to work with. I was really surprised by how comfortable I was during the shoot. I’m very camera–shy and don’t generally enjoy being photographed but Amanda made the session fun. She was creative and flexible when it came to location and poses, and she really listened to us in order to make the photographs personal. We absolutely plan to use her again in the future, and I highly recommend her to anyone else in the area.- Anne & EJ
